Happy 40th Anniversary to SCAI!

Dr. Rosenfield emphasized that the vision of SCAI is to Save and Enhance Lives.

Highlights of this year's meeting will include:

• Keynote speaker Arianna Huffington (speaking about sleep deprivation)
• The special 40 for 40 session, which will discuss the history of and state of the art in interventional cardiology. 
• Live cases, which have returned to SCAI. 
• A second keynote - IBM Watson, and how it will impact cardiology. 

His year included 3 key areas: operations, membership, and staffing. 

• aligning committees and strategic planning
• the launch (in partnership with IAC) of an accreditation program for cath labs
• adding new members, including a focus on Fellows in Training, with a commitment of making SCAI the "professional home" for new graduates
• a special thank you went out to the SCAI staff, all of whom have been invaluable in the continued existence of SCAI and the success of the annual meeting
• Francesca Day has been tapped to be the new Executive Director of SCAI
